WhatsApp service temporarily crashed and restored in Pakistan




KARACHI: Messaging service app WhatsApp on Wednesday was temporarily suspended and resumed in different parts of Pakistan.

Facebook-owned messaging service app was reportedly suspended today on both Android and iOS, causing panic among the users.

According to users, when an existing chat was opened, the name of the person or group was replaced with a spinning wheel and the word ‘connecting.’

While attempting to use change the privacy settings, the service generated an error message that said: “WhatsApp was not able to retrieve current privacy settings. Please try again later.”

Whatsapp Error

The reason for the suspension was stated in a blog on Twitter. It stated that the service was suspended for a while due to a fault occurred in the main server. It has been restored now.

However, WhatsApp services remained suspended in various cities of the country because a fault occurred in the main server

Later, the service was restored across the country after 45 minutes of its suspension.
