Uzair Baloch confesses to espionage charges, says provided sensitive security information to Iranian intelligence

KARACHI: Notorious terrorist and leader of the Lyari gang war, Uzair Baloch has made startling revelations in court, admitting that he was involved in the leakage of sensitive security information to foreign intelligence agencies including Iranian intelligence.

While giving his confessional statement regarding his crimes in missing persons case before the magistrate today, Baloch said that he provided information regarding army installations and officials to foreign agents.

He further added that he was guaranteed full safety by the Iranian spy agencies.

The gang war leader also confessed that he had political support for the criminal activities and he was assured a safe place to escape.

“I had political support for these activities, including transfer and posting of favourite police officers,” he said.

Baloch, who is involved in the murder of hundreds of people, including police personnel and other gang war leaders, was arrested by the Interpol on Dec 29, 2014, from Dubai.

He was later arrested from the outskirts of Karachi by the Rangers personnel during what the paramilitary forces claimed was a raid.
