Trump Tweet: Pakistan suspends cooperation with US!

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Defense Minister Khurram Dastagir Khan, while delivering a lecture here today on Contours of Security Environment of Pakistan at the Institute of Strategic Studies, stated that Pakistan had suspended cooperation related to sharing of intelligence with US in the wake of Trump’s New Year Tweet. 

Maintaining  that US, that is being defeated by terrorists in Afghanistan, is blaming Pakistan for its failures, the Defense Minister  asserted that Pakistan only wanted its sacrifices to be recognized without putting any price on them.

He further said that Pakistan would not allow its territory to be used to fight the Afghan war.

Balochistan Turmoil: Five militants killed, 29 facilitators arrested in Dera Bugti operation!

QUETTA: Balochistan Home Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti has informed today that five militants of an outlawed organization were killed and 29 suspected facilitators arrested in an operation by Frontier Corps (FC) in hilly areas of Bamboo Top in Dera Bugti district.

Addressing a press conference along with Commissioner Dera Bugti Javed Nabi Khosa and senior FC officers here, he said the personnel of FC had cleared Bamboo Top of the terrorists after a successful operation, in which huge quantity of weapons and ammunition was also recovered.

Due to the efforts of FC, the back of terrorists in Dera Bugti and surrounding areas had been broken and with the cooperation of people, the rest of the militants would also be eliminated, he added.

On the occasion, more than 20 rebels also surrendered to the security forces, who were handed over the national flag by the home minister.

Bugti offered the self-exiled Baloch persons living abroad to join the national mainstream as they would be welcomed, otherwise they would be eliminated.

He said the provincial government in collaboration with the law enforcement agencies had under a strategy forced the miscreants to flee from urban areas to hills and now under the peaceful Balochistan package, they were being included in the national mainstream.

PML-N will win the next general elections: PM Abbasi

LONDON: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi while assuring that general election would be held in time, claimed here today that the PML-N would win next general elections.

 

Speaking to Media following a meeting with deposed prime minister Nawaz Sharif, he said that the name of caretaker prime minister would be finalized after consultation with the Leader of the Opposition, Syed Khurshid Shah.  Abbasi said that there was no possibility of Sharif turning his visit to London into an exile. Nawaz Sharif too held: “I will not act like Pervez Musharraf and will return to the country soon.”

PML-N Balochistan meeting chaired by Shehbaz Sharif!

LAHORE: President of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif chaired a meeting of the PML-N Balochistan chapter here Saturday.

Federal ministers Ahsan Iqbal and Lt Gen (R) Abdul Qadir Baloch, former Balochistan chief minister Nawab Sanaullah Zehri, members of the National assembly Zahid Hamid and Hamza Shehbaz Sharif, Speaker Balochistan Assembly Raheela Durrani, Senator Dr Asif Kirmani, Jamal Shah Karkar, Mir Afzal Mandokhel, Saidal Khan Nasir, Yunus Khan Baloch and Farid Afghan Khan also attended the meeting.

During the meeting, Shehbaz Sharif appointed Lt Gen (R) Abdul Qadir Baloch as acting PML-N Balochistan president with Jamal Shah Kakar and Mir Afzal Mandokhel as acting vice presidents.

Saidal Khan was made acting general secretary, Yunus Khan Baloch acting additional general secretary and Farid Afghan Khan acting secretary information.

The participants of the also prayed for the early recovery of Begum Kalsoom Nawaz. Addressing the meeting, Shehbaz Sharif praised the services of outgoing PML-N Balochistan president Sanaullah Zehri for the party.

Sanaullah Zehri, he said, worked for the party with dedication and he still stood with it, he added. He said: “We will strengthen the PML-N Balochistan jointly. Under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif, we have to work together for the strengthening of the party and I will personally visit Quetta soon.”

Office-bearers of the PML-N Balochistan expressed confidence in the supreme leader Nawaz Sharif and party president Shehbaz Sharif.
