Transgender activists protest against Social Welfare Dept

KARACHI: A large number of transgender from across the Metropolis took to the streets protesting against Sindh Government’s Social Welfare Department, for not considering them for Public Service.

Slogan-chanting members of the transgender community also staged a sit-in at the gate of Karachi Press Club.

Gender Interactive Alliance Pakistan president, Bindia Rana while speaking on the occasion pointed out though government has recently announced that transgender would  be given government jobs, for which even a budget was allocated, but so far no one has been employed.
