Taliban attack Afghan checkpoints killing 22 cops

KANDAHAR: At least 22 policemen were killed and 15 wounded in a series of attacks by Taliban on Afghan police checkpoints here today.

Authorities claimed that government forces retaliated killing 45 and  inuring 35 insurgents. They said that none of the  checkpoints were captured during the overnight attack. 

While talking to Media Kandahar’s police chief stated: “Our forces resisted until they received reinforcement and air support”.

1971 specter lingers on: Pak FO concerned over death sentences to 6 JI leaders!

ISLAMABAD: Foreign Office said it was concerned over the death sentences handed over yesterday (23rd of November) to six Jamaat-e-Islami activists for looting and killing a Hindu man, killing a Chhatra League leader, killing 13 chairmen and members of five unions.

According to details though International Crimes Tribunal of Bangladesh has convicted six (Abu Saleh Muhammad Abdul Aziz Mia, Ruhul Amin, Abu Muslim Muhammad Ali, Abdul Latif, Najmul Huda and Abdur Rahim Mia) only Abdul Latif is incarcerated. All the other five had been proclaimed as absconders.

They were indicted  by the tribunal on 28th of June, 2016 for committing crimes against humanity during 1971 war.

Advanced cyber attack targets the Saudi kingdom!

RIYADH: Saudi authorities have informed that they had identified an advanced cyber attack targeting the Kingdom here on Monday (20th of November). 

According to details hackers attempted to disrupt government computers. 

Sources have informed that the NCSC has detected a new Advanced Persistent Threat (APT) that is targeting Saudi Arabia. 

Attack sought to penetrate computers using email phishing techniques. 

It is pertinent to mention here that Saudi Arabia has come under numerous cyber attacks, including  Shamoon, the forceful disc-wiping malware active in attacks against the Saudi energy sector in 2012.

The world’s biggest oil company, Saudi Aramco, was among the firms hit by Shamoon, in what is said to be the worst cyber attack in country’s history.

Tanker crashes into a house kills a teenager in Karachi!

KARACHI: A 16-year-old girl was killed and eight others injured when a hurtling tanker crashed into a house in Korangi here today.
Tanker banged into the house near Dar-ul-Uloom Colony, breaking its walls causing the death.
Following the incident, police and rescue teams reached the spot and saved the trapped residents under the wreckage of the house. The deceased and injured were rushed to Jinnah Hospital.
