Why social media usage has become irresistible?

AMSTERDAM: Innumerable studies have been conducted for an insight into the harmful impacts of excessive social media use on health.

However, the penchant is increasing rapidly! But why is it so difficult to resist social media?

It actually makes us feel good, claimed the savants from the Michigan State University in their latest study.

In a joint venture researcher Allison Eden, investigators from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and Radboud University Nijmegen carried out two studies involving regular and irregular Facebook users.

Their findings suggested that even a little exposure to a Facebook-related snap such as logo and screenshot can trigger a pleasing reaction among frequent social media users, resulting in causing social media cravings.

Therefore, the association amid pleasurable feelings and cravings make social media irresistible and tempting.

In both of the studies, participants were shown a Facebook-related cue or a control picture, along with a Chinese symbol. They have been assessed as to gauge their longings to use Fb via survey.

Even less Fb exposure like ogling the Fb wall of a pal or anything linked with Facebook, is considered adequate to bring that association back.

When people try to control their Fb usage and fail, it triggers a feeling of culpability. That affects the psyche in non-constructive mean.
