Septuagenarian MQM-L leader Professor Dr. Hasan Zafar Arif found dead in his car!

KARACHI: Body of MQM-L’s 72-year-old Deputy Convener  Professor Dr. Hasan Zafar Arif was found in the back seat of his (silver Lancer car bearing registration number) ANC-016 in Ibrahim Hyderi area here today.

Insinuating that Dr. Hasan Arif died of natural causes, JPMC head of emergency Seemi Jamali further informed Newspakistan.tv that apparently there were no torture mark or bullet wound on the body. SSP Rao Anwar too confirmed the absence of any trace of aggression.

However, Former deputy convener MQM-L Nadeem Nusrat has taken to the Twitter negating the Police and JPMC versions: “Sorry but these images were necessary to share. Security forces are claiming Dr. Arif’s body bore no torture signs. Look at these pictures. There is no doubt now he’s been killed by security forces”.

Cynics went haywire observing: He drove his car from his office at Fareed Chambers to his Phase VI house in DHA, why his car was found in Ibrahim Hyderi with his body – bearing torture marks – in the back seat. And if anyone else was driving, what happened to him?

It is pertinent to recall here that Dr. Hasa Arif was taken into custody from KPC’s main gate when he tried to enter the club in order to address a Presser along with other MQM-L leaders. Dr. Arif, a former fellow at Harvard and an Associate Prof of KU, was  accused of facilitating and listening to Altaf Hussain’s controversial speech. However, he was released on orders of an ATC from the Central Prison here.
