Scene set at Islamabad for the Senate Chairman election!

ISLAMABAD: Senators, who were elected in March polls, have taken oath here today and signed the member rolls.

Since his election as a Senator is being contested in the SC, FM Ishaq Dar did not take the oath today.  

Meanwhile, the wheeling dealing vis-à-vis election of Senate’s Chairman and his Deputy has reached its climax.

Senate Chairman Independent senator from Balochistan Sadiq Sanjrani 40, is PTI/PPP candidate for the chairmanship while PPP’s Saleem Mandviwalla will be running for the post of deputy chairman.

Senate Chairman PML-N is pitching veteran diplomat, politician and a practicing lawyer Raja Muhammad Zafar-ul-Haq as its candidate for Upper-house’s chairmanship.  Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) Senator Usman Khan Kakar is the candidate for the post of deputy chairman.
