Row over Pak artists: Atif gives B-town filmmaker the cold shoulder!

AIMAN INAM

MUMBAI: According to the sources privy to Newspakistan.tv Pakistani, singer Atif Aslam has been approached by Indian filmmaker Sudhir Mishra to promote his song Sehmi Hai Dhadkan from the movie Daas Dev.

According to the details, the crooner keeps a stiff upper lip while ignoring the maker’s request to promote the song.

In this context, a statement reads, “Atif said he will do it, but it hasn’t been done. I’m not sure why he isn’t taking part in the activity, but, as a producer, I see that work promised hasn’t been executed. He hasn’t delivered on his word.”

Well it seems that Atif’s measure to bite his tongue is the reaction of ongoing controversy against Pakistani artists in India.

Readers may recall that last week politician Babul Supriyo criticized the B-town showbiz industry for hiring Pakistani artists.

It is pertinent to mention here that Supriyo has recently condemned the filmmakers of Tiger Zinda Hai as they asked Atif to sing Dil Diya Gallan that went to the top of the chart.

Also, he held that Indian singer Arijit could have sung the song better, “I am also not sure why Atif Aslam got to sing Dil Diya Gallan when our very own Arijit Singh could have done a better job.” Pundits at the helm of affairs sense further aggravation of bi-lateral ties.
