Revival of Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal on the cards?

NOWSHERA: According to sources *Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) is about to be revived.

The tête-à-tête between Chief Minister of KP Pervez Khattak and Maulana Sami-ul Haq of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) –S yesterday (Monday 13th of November) too insinuates towards the said return.

CM appreciated JUI-S chief’s support for PTI during recent by-election in Peshawar.

Pointing towards various meetings held at Darul Uloom Haqqania here, Maulana said that revival of MMA was on the cards.

It is pertinent to mention here that a former ISI Major too met Maulana earlier to discuss a umber of matters including electoral alliance of religious parties.

* Coalition of Islamist parties MMA was formed back in 2001 as an electoral alliance comprising of JI, JUP, JUI-F, JUI-S, (presently banned) TJP (that is now called PIT). MMA won 52 (out of 99) seats in PA and 45 NA seats.

Pak Army Major lost life during operation against terrorists in D.I.Khan

D.I.KHAN: During a search operation in Kulachi area here an exchange of fire took place between terrorists and personnel of LEAs today.

As a result of the shoot-out 28-year-old Major Ishaq was shot dead. Belonging to Khushab, he left behind a minor and widow.

COAS and officials attended his funeral that was held here.

Reawakening of Buddha after 1700 years!

HARIPUR: In order to revive tourism and encourage religious harmony, the concerned authorities have unveiled remains of a 1700-year-old Sleeping Buddha here yesterday (on Wednesday 15th of November).

According to details the remains of the (48-foot-long) 3rd century AD Sleeping Buddha  is reckoned by savants the oldest unearthed so far.

It is pertinent to mention here that Buddhist civilization flourished in Indo-Pak Sub-Continent during the reign of (the grandson of the founder of Maurya Dynasty Chandragupta Maurya) Emperor Asoka (who died 232 BCE)  Indo-Pak Sub-Continent

Three shot dead in Charsadda by unidentified gunmen!

CHARSADDA: Unidentified gunmen attacked a patrolling police party in Majoki area here today killing a civilian and two policemen.

According to details one of the attackers was  killed in the retaliatory firing by police while others fled the scene of crime. A police official who received bullet wounds was rushed to the nearest medical facility.

Sources privy to the Newspakistan.tv have insinuated that attack have been carried out by miscreants who are against anti-polio drive in the area.
