NOWSHERA: According to sources *Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) is about to be revived.
The tête-à-tête between Chief Minister of KP Pervez Khattak and Maulana Sami-ul Haq of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) –S yesterday (Monday 13th of November) too insinuates towards the said return.
CM appreciated JUI-S chief’s support for PTI during recent by-election in Peshawar.
Pointing towards various meetings held at Darul Uloom Haqqania here, Maulana said that revival of MMA was on the cards.
It is pertinent to mention here that a former ISI Major too met Maulana earlier to discuss a umber of matters including electoral alliance of religious parties.
* Coalition of Islamist parties MMA was formed back in 2001 as an electoral alliance comprising of JI, JUP, JUI-F, JUI-S, (presently banned) TJP (that is now called PIT). MMA won 52 (out of 99) seats in PA and 45 NA seats.
Ban imposed on swimming in River Kunhar
MANSEHRA: Deputy Commissioner Manshera under section 144 Wednesday imposed a ban on swimming in River Kunhar.
According to DC office, the ban has been imposed under section 144 to save precious lives. All kind of activities within 500 meters of the river bank has also been stopped for a period of sixty days.
This order shall come into force with immediate effect for a period of 60 days. The violators would be prosecuted under Section 188 PPC.
KP: 3000 KGs of bad food disposed of
PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Authority has disposed of 3000 kilograms of substandard food items recovered from various areas of the city in raids conducted during last week.
Spokesman of the authority informed that the recovered items were disposed on dumping site of Water and Sanitation Program. He said that recovered items were included 100 cartons of dried soft drink and 50 sacks of substandard snacks. He said that an ice cream factory situated in Chamkani area
KP Caretaker Information Minister chairs meeting
PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Caretaker Minister for Information and Public Relations Zafar Iqbal Bangash Wednesday chaired a meeting in which challenges and issues faced by the department were discussed in detail.
Secretary Information & Public Relations Qaiser Alam and Director General Imdad Ullah briefed the Minister about the working atmosphere, the issues and challenges and suggestions for its improvement were also tabled. The caretaker Minister, on this occasion, said the results and achievements of any organization are directly proportional to the facilitation of its working force and the government must utilize its energies in solving the problems faced by its employees so that better working atmosphere should be ensured. He said the present caretaker government, keeping in view its limitation and framework would ensure all possible support to the information department for solving the problems faced by its employees.
However, he said the officers and officials are obligated to discharge their responsibilities with devotions and commitment and the same would create better atmosphere for the government to deliver. The Secretary Information while highlighting the challenges and issues of the Directorate General and its employees, has also indicated the achievements and performance of the Department and identified some important suggestions for the solutions of various problems including capacity building of the officers frequently, resolving some anomalies in service structure, office accommodation and facilities for mobilization during the duty. While endorsing the importance of Information & Public Relations Department, the caretaker Minister has assured that the problems faced by the department and its employees would be solved on priority basis, keeping in view the constitutionals capacity of the present (caretaker) government.
