Zainab’s killer to be hanged on Wed. 17th Oct.

Zainab killer to be hanged

LAHORE: Serial killer, pedophile Imran’s black warrant has been issued for October, 17th, 2018.

Commenting on the development, Prosecutor Abdul Rauf Watoo said: “Today’s warrants were issued after President Arif Alvi rejected Ali’s appeal for clemency in the Zainab case on October 10 (2018).”

According to details an Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) today issued black warrants for the execution of the condemned
the prisoner, Imran Ali, in Zainab murder case. The court asked the jail authorities to hang Imran Ali on 17th of Oct, 2018. Meanwhile, Haji Amin, the father of murdered Zainab, has moved the Lahore High Court (LHC) to publicly hang the convict. His appeal has been filed under Section 22 of the Anti-Terrorism Act 1997, which allows a convict to be executed publicly. The jail authorities had approached the ATC-I for the hanging of Imran Ali submitting that he was sentenced to death by the ATC-I and later, the Lahore High Court and the Supreme Court had upheld the conviction, while the President of Pakistan also turned down his mercy petitions. Therefore, the jail officials asked the trial court to issue black warrants for his execution. ATC-I Judge Sajjad Ahmad issued the black warrants for Imran Ali directing the authorities to carry out the hanging after fulfilling legal formalities.
Imran Ali was sentenced to death in February 2018 on charges of kidnapping, raping and killing minor Zainab in January 2018 within the jurisdiction of the A-division police station, Kasur. Little Zainab went missing on Jan 4, shortly after she left home to go to a neighbor’s house where she studied the Holy Quran. Her parents were in Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah when the incident took place. After relatives reported her missing, the police recovered her body on Jan 9 from a heap of
The incident sparked unrest and massive protests in Kasur district resulting in violent clashes with the police. Police later collected DNA samples of 1,187 people from January 12 to January 23 to trace the accused. On January 23, the police arrested Imran, a neighbor of Zainab, as his DNA matched with the DNA samples collected from the body of Zainab. The convict was involved in eight other similar cases wherein six victims had died and only two survived. An anti-terrorism court had awarded death sentence to Imran Ali in at least three such cases also.
