PTI demand for creation of southern Punjab province

LAHORE: PTI said it supported the demand for creation of southern Punjab province.

Speaking at a presser here yesterday (15th of April) PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that the proposed creation of southern (Junoobi) Punjab province was needed not for linguistic reasons but on administrative grounds to mitigate the miseries and send of deprivation being faced by some 35m people living in Bahawalpur, Multan and DG Khan divisions.  

It is pertinent to mention here that before addressing the Press Conference Shah Mehmood Qureshi had a meeting with the recently formed leadership of the Junoobi Punjab Sooba Mahaz (JPSM). 

JPSM president Khusro Bakhtiar also addressed the press conference.

PML-N Balochistan meeting chaired by Shehbaz Sharif!

LAHORE: President of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif chaired a meeting of the PML-N Balochistan chapter here Saturday.

Federal ministers Ahsan Iqbal and Lt Gen (R) Abdul Qadir Baloch, former Balochistan chief minister Nawab Sanaullah Zehri, members of the National assembly Zahid Hamid and Hamza Shehbaz Sharif, Speaker Balochistan Assembly Raheela Durrani, Senator Dr Asif Kirmani, Jamal Shah Karkar, Mir Afzal Mandokhel, Saidal Khan Nasir, Yunus Khan Baloch and Farid Afghan Khan also attended the meeting.

During the meeting, Shehbaz Sharif appointed Lt Gen (R) Abdul Qadir Baloch as acting PML-N Balochistan president with Jamal Shah Kakar and Mir Afzal Mandokhel as acting vice presidents.

Saidal Khan was made acting general secretary, Yunus Khan Baloch acting additional general secretary and Farid Afghan Khan acting secretary information.

The participants of the also prayed for the early recovery of Begum Kalsoom Nawaz. Addressing the meeting, Shehbaz Sharif praised the services of outgoing PML-N Balochistan president Sanaullah Zehri for the party.

Sanaullah Zehri, he said, worked for the party with dedication and he still stood with it, he added. He said: “We will strengthen the PML-N Balochistan jointly. Under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif, we have to work together for the strengthening of the party and I will personally visit Quetta soon.”

Office-bearers of the PML-N Balochistan expressed confidence in the supreme leader Nawaz Sharif and party president Shehbaz Sharif.

Man incarcerated for a quarter century for assaulting a minor girl!

JHANG: An additional sessions judge here today has  awarded 25 years imprisonment and imposed fine of Rs one million in a minor girl assault case, registered by Saddar police station.

The police had booked one Mujahid Abbas of Kot Khaira on thecharge of assaulting a 7-year-old girl, Gulshan Bibi, two years ago, and submitted the challan in the court of law.

After observing evidence and listening to witnesses, Additional Sessions Judge Naeem Ahmed Sheikh awarded him  25 years jail term.

ACE nabs assistant commissioner of Darya Khan for embezzling millions!

SARGODHA: Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Sargodha region has informed about the arrested of Assistant Commission (AC) Darya Khan for embezzling Rs 14.01 million.

ACE authorities said that Facto Group had purchased property of Adam Sugar Mills in 2015. The Facto Group in collusion with the existing AC Darya Khan and the then Sub Registrar Sajid Safdar had embezzled Rs 14.01 million by transfering fee after showing low value of the property, thus causing a loss to national exchequer.

ACE Director Asim Raza had constituted a 4-member investigation team to probe into the matter.
