Nikah was performed by Mufti Saeed in presence of Awn Chaudhary and Zulfi Bukhari who signed the Nikahnama as witnesses.

PM directs immediate finalization of LG system
LAHORE: Prime Minister Imran Khan Sunday directed for finalization of the Local Bodies System within next 48 hours.
The prime minister said devolution of powers at the grass-roots level was the most important agenda of the PTI government. The objective behind this agenda was to empower the local people in the real sense, he added.

Farman, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain and senior leadership the PTI were present during the meeting, PM office media wing said in a press release. The prime minister observed that besides, devolution of power at the grass-roots level, effective public accountability of the elected representatives would be ensured. He further observed that the LG system would remove the status quo. The devolution of powers and the local bodies system would help raise the new leadership, he noted.
He said the new system would be rooted in the democratic norms in which the governance and transparency would be ensured. He stressed upon introduction of an LG system in which the public representatives should be guarded against blackmailing at all levels so that they could fully concentrate their energies on public welfare. Earlier after his arrival, the prime minister met the governor and chief minister at the CM Secretariat.
4.1 magnitude earthquake jolts Lahore
LAHORE: A minor earthquake of 4.1 magnitude on the Richter scale jolted the provincial capital and its adjoining areas on Sunday.
The tremors were felt in Lahore, Sheikhupura, Sahiwal, Okara, Kasur and other areas. According to Pakistan Meteorological Department, the epicenter of the earthquake was 24 kilometers east of Lahore near Pak-India border at 20 kilometers depth.
Govt to introduce new digital policy soon: Fawad
LAHORE: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain today said the government would soon introduce a new digital policy for equipping the media with modern technology and facilities.
Talking to a delegation of Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) and Punjab Union of Journalists (PUJ) during his visit to PTV Centre Lahore, he said a state-of-the-art media university would be established by merging the academies of Pakistan Television (PTV), Radio Pakistan and Information Ministry.
He said it was the government’s responsibility to side with the poor and “we are standing with you people.” There was a great human resource in the field of journalism, who, however, lacked skills and the government would work to equip them with skills and expertise in respective fields at the media university, he added. Work was underway for the issuance of health cards to working journalists to ensure the provision of free of charge medical facilities of up to Rs 550,000 to each of them, he added.
The minister said there was a positive development regarding DTH licenses. He said the government wanted to abolish its monopoly on media advertisements. “Like the past governments, we cannot spend billions of rupees on media advertisements,” he said, adding that the print media, however, would not be left to die on that count.
He said the names of three judges had been proposed for Wage Board Award. Pakistan Media Regulatory Authority would be established so that all modes of media would have a solution to their problems at one place.
