PSX: Bulls return to the bourse after a week of bearish trend!

KARACHI: KSE-100 Index gained 945 points facilitating the bourse close at 40,791points today as bulls entered the Stock Exchange following bailout news.

According to details the news apropos  a package (of Rs. 20b by the PM) for bourse investors have shooed the bears off that had made the exchange bleed last week.

Rs. 6b worth of 125m shares changed hands today. Value of the shares of  263 companies augmented, 82 declined and 14 remained stagnant.

Today Textile,  Engineering and Communication Sectors have led the trading with 28m, 12m and 11m shares.

Top five traders of the shares were: Chakwal Spinning, 11m shares (15.06pc); Aisha Steel Mills, 6.6m shares (+6.06pc); TRG Pak Ltd., 5.5m shares (+4.98pc); Bank of Punjab,  5.0m shares (+2.60pc); K-Electric Ltd., 4.9m shares (+0.16pc).
