PM House will be converted into educational institution!

ISLAMABAD: In order to save Rs. 1.15b spent annually on the maintenance of heritage buildings, such edifices will be transformed into public places and income generating projects.

This was revealed by the Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood who was talking to the Media here today after a briefing given to the PM earlier. 

According to details Prime Minister and Governors would not reside in PM House and Governor Houses: PM House in Islamabad (on which Rs. 470m is being spent annually) would be converted into an institution of higher learning. For this purpose, additional structures would be built on the land adjacent to PM House.       

A committee comprising Education Minister, Chairman Higher Education Commission, and Dr. Attaur Rehman would submit a PC one of the project for approval.
