WASHINGTON DC: Ambassador Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry has stated that Pakistan’s relations with China would not be at the expense of seven-decade-old robust ties with US.
He was delivering a speech apropos Pakistan’s perspective on the changes taking place in South Asia and the prospects for peace and stability in the region here at an event hosted by Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.
He said that Pakistan and US had successfully worked together. According to him when the two countries did not cooperate they almost certainly failed.
Absar Alam relinquishes charge as Pemra Chief after LHC decision!
ISLAMABAD: Following LHC decision today Absar Alam has relinquished charge as chairman PEMRA.
According to details, announcing the judgment over a petition filed by a citizen challenging appointment of Absar Alam as Pemra chairman LHC held that his appointment as was illegal.
Sources privy to Newspakistan.tv have informed that earlier LHC had dismissed Pemra counsel’s request apropos time to present records apropos legality of Absar Alam’s appointment.
Court has ordered that new PEMRA chairman be appointed within thirty days.
It is pertinent to mention here that former prime minister Nawaz Sharif had appointed Absar Alam back in 2015 as Pemra chairman.
COAS to brief Senate over security situation!
ISLAMABAD: COAS will be briefing *Senate’s Committee of the Whole apropos the emerging national security paradigm for Pakistan with respect to recent (foreign) visits/developments on Tuesday (19th of December) at 10am.
It is pertinent to mention here that the scheduled in-camera meeting that would be the first in the country’s parliamentary history was scheduled after senators expressed concern over the ToRs of the IMCTC and demanded that lawmakers should be apprised about details of the alliance.
According to details Director General Military Operations will also brief the committee.
* The entire Senate will be acting as a committee.
IS claims responsibility of suicide bomb attack/firing on Quetta church that killed ten, injured 57

QUETTA: A tragedy of colossal nature was evaded today when police effectively stopped four suicide bombers outside Bethel Memorial Methodist Church harboring a congregation of some 400 here on Zarghoon Road.
According to details four suicide bombers attempted to enter the church but vigilant policemen prevented them from going inside as a result an encounter took place. One of the bombers was shot dead while another blew himself up.
Ten people (including three women) were killed and 57 injured (ten critically) as a result of firing and explosions. Police has declared the Church clear after neutralizing the bombers.
Two terrorists were reportedly seen bolting the scene of crime with police in hot pursuit. IS has claimed responsibility of the attack holding two plungers from the group had attacked the church.
