Olympics 2016: Official media bus attacked at Rio!

RIO DE JANEIRO: Sources here have reported that an official media bus has been attacked in Curicica, the west zone of the Rio, here on Tuesday night.

According to the details, provided by the police officials, the vehicle was carrying reporters and travelling to Olympic bar when it attackers pelted it with stones.

It has also been learnt that the windows were smashed as a result. A Turkish passenger, who voluntarily works at the games in computer science, has been reported injured.

On the contrary, there have been rumors that the bus has been fired at. Following the incident, the vehicle was escorted by the members of armed forces.

Around 12 passengers were present at the time of attack. Of which four were Brazilians and the rest were foreigners.

The game International Olympic Committee (IOC) has already begun the exploration to probe the incident.

Apropos this a statement reads: “We are aware that a media bus travelling had two windows broken by objects coming from the surrounding area. The security authorities are now investigating the incident and we await their report before making further comment.”

Moreover, a media conference, related to the incident, will be held by the IOC and Games organizers around 11 in the morning today (Wednesday).
