Mohsin Soomro

LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Executive Committee Chairman Najam Sethi is becoming the strong candidate for the next chief of the cricket board.

According to an official, PCB’s decision-making body adopted a resolution to elect Sethi as the new chairman in the Annual general meeting (AGM) held here on Thursday.

“The AGM also unanimously adopted a resolution for recommending Pride of Performance Award for the services rendered by Najam Sethi for the successful organisation of Pakistan Super League (PSL),” he added.

It is pertinent to mention here that the incumbent PCB Chairman Shaharyar Khan’s three-year tenure is expiring in August 2017 and he has tendered his resignation to the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
