NAB apprehends 6 in Multan Metro Bus Project scam

MULTAN: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Thursday apprehended six officials of the Multan Development  Authority (MDA), including former chief engineer Sabir Khan Sadozai, in connection with Metro Bus Project (MBP) scam.
The sources in NAB confirmed to APP Thursday evening the arrest of six officials in the case. Those arrested included MDA’s XENs Riaz Hussain, Amanat and SDOs Moanam Saeed, Manzoor Hussain, Rana Wasim besides ex-chief engineer Sabir Khan Sadozai, the sources added.
NAB authorities had already got the record of MBP from the MDA, the sources said and added ex-chief engineer Sabir Khan Sadozai had retired during the project and later was hired on contract for the MBP.
When contacted Director General MDA, Rana Rizwan Qadeer said that NAB had called Director Engineering Nazir Chaughtai to its office in the morning, adding that XEN Manzoor Hussain and SDOs Moanam Saeed, Manzoor Hussain, Rana Wasim had also gone to the Multan NAB office today.
To a question, he replied that the record of MBP was already with the NAB. According to NAB Multan spokesperson, the six accused would be produced before the court on Friday for physical remand.
