Money changing hands under Qisas and Diyat laws comes to the rescue of Shahzeb Khan’s killers!

KARACHI: Shahrukh Jatoi, son of an influential feudal, who was awarded death sentence by an ATC back in 2013 for the murder of 20-year-old Shahzeb Khan, has been granted bail by Session Court South today.

It has been insinuated that the family members of the killed boy had been generously compensated and after money changed hands, Aurangzeb Khan, father of the victim, while citing the Qisas and Diyat Laws, testified in an affidavit that he had pardoned the culprit(s) in the name of Allah.

Victim’s father  said that his family had reached a compromise with the family of the convict(s) and has no objection on bail plea.

He also asked the court to drop the case, though compromise is not possible in cases involving terrorism charges. It is pertinent to mention here that SHC hearing Jatoi’s appeal against the capital punishment ordered a retrial.

Shahzeb Khan was murdered when he tried to stop a bunch of boys from harassing his sister.
