THE HAGUE: The International Court of Justice (ICJ) will resume hearing the case of the Indian Intelligence officer Kulbhushan Jadhav, who was arrested from Balochistan on the charges of carrying out subversive activities against Pakistan.
The president of the ICJ had fixed time limits for the filing of the initial pleadings in the case and provided the dates to the Indian authorities to file a memorial.
Pakistan was also urged to file a count-memorial on the same dates. The order was made after taking into account the views of the parties.
After Jadhav was awarded the death sentence for espionage, by a Pakistani court, India challenged the verdict in the top UN court, accusing Pakistan of violating the Vienna Convention by failing to provide him with consular access and for being in breach of international human rights law.
