MUMBAI: Earlier this week, Newspakistan.tv reported that Bollywood actress turned producer Anushka Sharma launched her clothing line NUSH.
Now if the grapevine is to be believed, Anushka is facing the charges of plagiarism over her collections, which are supposed to be inspired by Chinese websites such as Alibaba, Aliexpress, Wish and Taobao.
In this context, a source quoted Anushka’s spokesperson as saying: “Several discrepancies have come to light over the last two days. We are in the process of getting to the bottom of this and will not stop at taking stringent action to resolve the situation. Once we have clarity, we will share details.”
Claiming that stern measures will be taken against this, her business partner Pawan Agarwal, CMD Suditi Industries ensures that they will look into this matter keenly.
Commenting on this further, Pawan further mused: “We have just got to know about the discrepancies in some designs of our brand NUSH and we are taking strict action about the same. We have recently realized that some of our procured designs from the Chinese manufacturer were being available elsewhere too.
“So we, along with our partner Anushka Sharma, are also ensuring that these specific designs are not put on floor and will discard this out from our range.”

Verne Troyer, the cult star who pursued a career with dignity!
Verne Troyer – who struggled with alcoholism – died yesterday (22nd day of April). People will always remember the thirty-two inch star as Bond-villain donned in quasi-Nehru jacket impassively doing the signature little finger to the lips move.
Troyer had begun his screen career in 1994 in the movie Baby’s Day Out when he had been the stunt double for a baby. He repeated the Mini-Me role in the Austin Powers sequel Goldmember, had a small part as a goblin-in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone – and with dignity and good humor sustained a career in reality television and the professional celebrity industry for almost 20 years.
Verne – born with a condition called achondroplasia dwarfism – endeavored to make a positive change with the platform he had and worked towards spreading that message every day.
After alleging Ali for harassing her, Meesha opens up about her story!
LAHORE: After alleging singer-cum-actor Ali Zafar for harassing her (singer and actor Meesha Shafi), now she has revealed that why she chose to break her silence at this point in time.
In an interview, the singer claimed that it is getting difficult for her to mum the words now. “The first and foremost reason [for breaking silence] is that I’m ready.”
Referring to the girls who went ahead to report about being harassed by former Patari CEO Khalid Bajwa, she further added, “I have started talking to people and divulging my experience. I’m finding it hard on my conscience to stay silent any longer than this because I’m seeing such brave girls and women speaking up not just around the world but here as well. I have to say, by the way, I salute these girls.”
“It’s not easy. They are not public figures and I think it can be harder for me, in a way, but it’s hard for everyone. The more I think about it, the more I realize that if I don’t go public, nothing will change. It was eating away at me.”
Maintaining that she has been telling her kids (a boy and a girl) regarding reporting apropos any indecent advantages taking by anyone instead of keeping a stiff upper lip. “I am telling my children how important it is to speak up, so it was getting difficult for me to stay silent knowing that it was not accidental or subtle.”
Sharing her reactions upon being harassed for the first time, the crooner beams, “The first time it happened, I didn’t react and just left. I told my husband but also asked him to not react; I’m a public figure and so is he [Ali Zafar]. My thought process was who I am and who he is and what that’s going to lead to. Being ready to talk was far off because it had just happened. I buried it.”
“But it happened again late last year or last quarter of last year. And in both instances, they were not alone. The second time it happened in a jam room. I got booked for a concert.”
“I was jamming with my band in Lahore and the organizers insisted that he was trying to get in touch. It started turning into a thing, and I was being seen as difficult or a diva, I got such feelers. I was avoiding him. I was asked to jam, figure out songs, scale and it happened while we were jamming.”
While saying that she is feeling better after opening up about her story of Metoo, she held, “It is liberating, it’s empowering and it’s not the end of the world. I only felt hesitant as long as I hadn’t told anyone. The more people I tell, the more power I feel. I do.
That has been my direct experience in the case. I’ve done the thing I feared and I’ve taken the leap of faith. And you know what, its okay.”

LAHORE: Followed by singer and actor Meesha Shafi’s allegations of being sexually abused by the singer and actor Ali Zafar, more of such claims come forward. Three more girls accuse Ali Zafar of harassment
According to the details, some women took to Twitter to report about their stories.
Make-up artist Leena Ghani posted, “Seeing Meesha’s courage it’s impossible for me to not speak now, not only in support of her but also to say she’s not alone.”
“In the many years I have known Ali, he has on several occasions crossed boundaries of what is appropriate behavior between friends. His behavior displays a clear lack of respect for women. Inappropriate contact, groping, sexual comments should not fall in the grey area between humor and indecency.”
Adding that inappropriate comments do embarrass women, she noted, “In such cases, women like myself run from a situation and hope to God you never cross paths again. And when by some misfortune you do, you hide from him.”
“Hoping that his sleazy eyes and hands don’t find you again. His hands don’t make their way up and down your waist or hold you too tight while you desperately try to wiggle and run.”
While encouraging Meesha for taking the stance, a Journalist namely Maham Javaid revealed, “From many many years ago, when Ali Zafar tried to kiss her cousin and pull her into a restroom with him. Luckily my cousin’s friends were there to push Ali Zafar off”
“We didn’t even think of telling anyone, apart from friends, or reporting him because he’s a celebrity, no one would possibly care or listen. And over the years we forgot the story ourselves, until today. Thanks @itsmeeshashafi for reminding us that our stories matters”
Whereas, Humna Raza, a blogger, also claimed that the singer touched her inappropriately at a public event.
Contrary to this, Ali, while rubbishing Shafi’s allegations of harassment against him, pronounces to take the matter to court.

Whereas, Maya Ali reckons that we should not judge anyone’s character, “I’m not here to say who is wrong and who is right or who did what and who didn’t… Let’s say, I haven’t known him for long, but I have been working with him since once year”
“We shot our film in Lahore and then we were all together in Poland to shoot the rest of the film and I never ever got any kind of that vibe from him. When we were on set or in any restaurant with the whole team he would always make sure that he was sharing these moments with her…”
“I am not judging anyone nor giving any clarification on anyone’s behalf, and we can’t judge the one side of a book… I respect this man @ali_zafar and want the truth to come out, until then we shouldn’t judge anyone’s character.”
Filmmaker Jami held, “The matter will be resolved in court and should end properly because this is big.”
