First T20I: Pakistan beats Scotland by 48 runs.

EDINBURG: Grange Cricket Club here was the venue where Pakistan beat Scotland by 48 runs on Tuesday 12th of June.

After beating No. 1 ODI team England (just 2 days back on Sunday at the very field) the home team was brimming with over-confidence but Pakistan brought them back to earth. Gren Shirts managed to slay the mighty Scots. 

Ali Evans dismissed Ahmed Shehzad who barely scored 14 and Fakhar Zaman (21). Later Hussain Talat who made 18 runs was sent back to the pavilion by Richie Berrington.

However, Hamza Tahir’s fiery bat oozed out 89 runs while Shoaib Malik scored 53 off 27 balls.  In the final five overs, skipper Sarfraz Ahmed mustered up unbeaten 89 off 49 balls.  Finally, Green Shirts gave the host team a target of 371 runs.

Scot openers George Munsey and Kyle Coetzer made a respectable 50 from the first five overs. Hasan Ali took two scalps. Hasan sent Munsey back after yielding only 25.

The Scots are licking their wounds and waiting for the second ODI to be played on Wednesday 13th of June.
