ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan Friday said that the completion of the process for the merger of Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) and their mainstreaming was the government’s foremost priority.
In a meeting with a delegation of Senators from FATA held at PM Office, the Prime Minister said the introduction of the local government system in tribal areas would help empower the people and ensure the development of the area at par with other parts of the country.
The meeting discussed the overall situation in tribal areas, the merger of FATA and other administrative issues. The Prime Minister said the government was striving for early enforcement of the local government system in the tribal areas.
The delegation was comprised off Senators Syed Shibli Faraz, Hidayatullah, Bilal-ur-Rehman, Aurangzeb, Taj Muhammad, Sajjad Hussain, Haji Momin Khan, and Mirza Muhammad Afridi.
