KARACHI: By some stroke of luck, the weather of this port city is getting pleasant following rains during Eid-ul-Azha holidays. 

Throughout this season, people adore having different yummy food items after slaughtering the sacrificial animals.

However, should you be eating organs? Well in this article, you will discover the answer!

In states like Pakistan, consuming organs such as heart, liver, kidneys, intestines, some parts of the animal’s head and brains are part of a regular diet.  

Let’s look and evaluate how much organ meat is too much!

  • Liver and Kidney: Connoisseurs are of the view that liver are stuffed with nutrients. Also, it is high in folate, B12, B2, vitamin AL, iron, folate, calcium, copper, and zinc.

On the contrary, if you swallow liver in large quantity then you would feel under the weather as it harbors an ample amount of saturated fats.

It is pertinent to point it out here that liver (including kidney of an animal), exposed to environmental pollution, may consist of toxins.

  • Intestines: As far as intestines are concerned, so you might come across innumerable hazardous bacteria if they are not cleaned and cooked well.

  • Brain: Moreover, imbibing brain has been linked with the transmission of rare ailments particularly human sort of mad cow disease. Therefore, you need to be careful.

  • Heart: Health and wellness experts suggest that heart is the only organ meat, which is full of health related boons. Nevertheless, one needs to cook it properly to make the most of its healthful benefits.

As a matter of fact, nothing is dangerous, as long as you have it in moderate quantity. Therefore, always keep a check on yourself particularly when it is the matter of eating.
