Dengue virus kills 7 in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: Seven people lost their lives after being affected by the dengue fever in Peshawar, said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s health ministry.

The virus has affected more than 1,500 people in the province. According to the statistics released by the Deputy Commissioner’s Office here, a total of 1,547 cases were tested positive for the virus, of which seven people have been killed so far.

The affected people are being treated at the Khyber Teaching Hospital, Hayatabad Medical Complex and Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar.

The report further said that Tehkal, Pishtakhara, Warsak Road and Deh Bahadar are the most affected areas.

Meanwhile, The KPK government has announced Rs500,000 compensation for each of the deceased.
