ISLAMABAD: The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Pakistan’s Senate has asked NAB to probe – what could be reckoned as one of the most bizarre cases in the history of civil aviation – vanishing of a wide-body jet airliner Airbus 310 belonging to PIA into thin air!

The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Pakistan’s Senate learned about the disappeared plane in the beginning of 2017.

Cynics went haywire, wondering how much palm greasing took place, when they were told that the plane that was still flight-worthy had been sold to a museum in Leipzig without any due process: No permission, No agreement, No advance payment!!

The fun does not just end here!

PIA spokesman stated that the plane was chartered to a British company for filming a movie in Malta. And that presently it is in Germany.

Reportedly, when the name of sacked PIA CEO Bernd Hildenbrand was removed from ECL he conveniently took the plane back home!
