KARACHI: A week-long exposition of Aamir Ahmed Qureshi’s fifteen realistic paintings was inaugurated on Saturday 28th of May here at Citi Art Gallery.

A Graduate of Arts Council’s Central Institute of Arts and Crafts, Aamir has learnt the métier from a number of masters. His works bear a touch of Shakeel Sddiqui’s style too: “I try to present the reality as it is”.

Speaking about his palette Aamir said that since he painted the reality no color was his favorite:  “Most of my inspiration comes from the world around me”. However, certain moods do dictate choice of shades.

He said that he took keen interest in painting historic buildings and landscapes. However, in the exhibition under review Aamir has mostly captured stills including furniture, lantern, vases, books etc.

LAHORE: Punjab Law Minister has said that Nawaz Sharif does not need Zardari’s political crutches.

Interestingly, this statement came hours after Zardari and his son Bilawal refused to meet him!

The minister held that if Sharif wanted to meet anyone that was only for avoiding derailment of democracy and holding the next general election on time.

Earlier Zardari, refusing to join hands with PML-N, said: “Nawaz Sharif only wants to use charter of democracy for his personal gains”.

ISLAMABAD: The clamor for the resignation of Finance Minister Ishaq Dar from the post is getting louder as facts & figures reveal that he badly failed to deliver.

According to the latest statistics Dar’s futile financial policies have buried each and every Pakistani underneath a debt of Rs. 120,381!

Senator Nasreen Jalil of the MQM (P), while commenting on the dismal situation, held: “If the Committee does not pass a resolution for the minister’s resignation, Dar will be responsible for the further deterioration of the economic indicators”.

Not only opposition senators, Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa has also maintained that the minister should call it a day.

It is pertinent to mention here that back in 2013 Pakistanis used to owe a debt of Rs. 91,000 each. The debt increase of 32% reflects the pathetic performance of PML-N Government.
