Thar gas in Sindh – accidentally found by Pak Oasis –  is being wasted

KARACHI (4 Jan., 2017): For the last six months inhabitants of the Thar Desert were wondering what the constantly burning blue flame was all about!   They are unaware that the wealth of their land – natural gas – is being  wasted  away through this blaze.

The way common Baloch are deprived of the advantages of Sui Gas, Tharis too are unable to reap benefits of gas they are standing on. 04Last June (2016) Messrs. Pak Oasis carried out the work of digging in the Thar Desert, in order to find water reservoirs to provide water to the Reverse Osmosis Plant they were installing. To their surprise at the depth of 400feet  they found  a gas reservoir.03Instead of utilizing this gas, the Thar Coal Authority has opted to burn it in order to avoid pollution turmoil. Though both Federal and Provincial governments  have been notified, no measures have yet been taken to make use of this gift of nature.  5k8a60455k8a60935k8a7004
