Study says ‘being a widow is good for health’!

AIMAN INAM

ITALY:  A new study, conducted by the researchers of University of Padova, reveals that losing a spouse could be beneficial for health – but only if the loser is the woman!

“Married women may suffer from the effects of caregiver burden, since they often devote themselves to caring for their husband in later life,” said Dr Trevisan from University.

Men feel more stressed due to over-dependency as they live in a better health and managed house in presence of their companion as compared to the women who as widows  suffer lower stress after their husbands die.
