SANA MAHMOOD

LONDON: In little over a hundred minutes Swiss Roger Federer crushed Croatia’s Marin Cilic to become the first man ever to win Wimbledon eight times, today.

Federer by winning his first Wimbledon since 2012 (and eight in 14 years)  extended his record to 19 Grand Slam titles.

Seventh seed Cilic, with blisters on his left foot, tried his best but the third seed Federer beat him in straight sets 6-3, 6-1, 6-4.

Terming the win as magical the 37 year old champ said he hoped to be back next year to defend the title.
