RIO OLYMPICS 2016: Jamaica’s Usain Bolt’s Déjà vu

AIMAN INAM

RIO DE JANEIRO: It was a déjà vu for the 29-year-old Jamaican Usain Bolt who repeated his 2008 Beijing and 2012 London performance by winning the 100 meters here in just 9.81 seconds beating Justin Gatlin from USA. He has thus entered himself into the history books as the first athlete to win three Olympic 100m titles.

Arrogant and bigheaded Bolt had earlier said, “Somebody said I can become immortal. Two more medals to go and I can sign off. Immortal.”

“It wasn’t perfect today but I got it done and I’m pretty proud of what I’ve achieved, nobody else has done it or even attempted it. I expected to go faster, but I’m happy that I won. I did what I had to,” he further maintained.

Bolt has been entertained as a hero by his admirers when he stormed into Rio’s Olympic Stadium prior to the race. Similarly, the crowd chanted his name subsequent to his triumph.

Pompous Bolt said, “After the semi-final I felt extremely good. I wanted to run faster but with the turnaround time, we normally have two hours, but we had one hour 20 minutes, it was challenging. This is what we train for. I told you guys I was going to do it”.

Earlier this year in the month of February, he said after the  2017 World Championships, he would withdraw from athletics.
