Pilot martyred as PAF jet crashes near Jamrud




PESHAWAR: Pakistan Air Force (PAF) on Saturday confirmed the martyrdom of a pilot in an air crash near Jamrud.

Flight Lieutenant Umar Shahzad has been martyred in the plane crash near Jamrud,” said a spokesman of the air force.

However, no loss or damage was reported in the suburban areas.

Umar Shahzad was on a routine operational training mission when he lost control of the aircraft, he added.

Air Headquarters has formed an inquiry board to investigate the cause of the air crash.

In March 2015, two PAF pilots were killed when their jet crashed during a training mission in Dera Ismail Khan.
