Government striving to make Pakistan a tolerant society: Abbasi’s message on ‘Minorities Day’

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has said that the government was striving to make Pakistan a tolerant society where basic rights of every citizen are protected.

In his message on the occasion of “Minorities Day” being observed today (August 11), he said, “We will make Pakistan a tolerant society where basic rights of every citizen are protected and all Pakistanis, Muslims or non-Muslims work collectively for progress and prosperity of the country.”

The premier assured that the government will fulfill the promise made to minorities by Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

He also hailed the role of minorities in social, general and health sector in particular.

Highlighting the steps taken for the betterment of the society, he said that the government has allocated five percent quota in jobs for minorities, besides setting aside seats in the Senate, National Assembly, and Provincial Assemblies.
