French Envoy Martine Dorance anticipates CPEC will bring positive change in the region

QUETTA: Envoy of France to Pakistan Madame Martine Dorance has noted that China was investing enormously in the energy and communication sector of the mega CPEC project.

H.E. said this while expressing views here on Wednesday (Dec., 14th) during ongoing tour of Baluchistan along with Embassy’s Economic Department Head Philippe Fouet.

The Ambassador, pointing towards the mineral riches of Baluchistan maintained that improved security would draw investors there from France.

Harboring on the subject H.E. reiterated that French companies were interested in investing in various sectors in Pakistan including power, water treatment and transport.

Envoy Dorance told that (Agence Française Développement) AFD was involved here in green-energy field. The agency is providing technical know-how as well as resources for hydro-electricity and solar energy projects.

India spent Rs7b to run anti-Pakistan campaign in Switzerland

LAHORE: India spent Rs7 billion to run an anti-Pakistan campaign in Switzerland, funding the self-exiled Balouch leaders to put the posters demanding free Balochistan.

This has been disclosed by political analyst Agha Iqrar Haroon who claimed that the anti-Pak campaign was originated from Canada.

“India got anti-Pakistan advertisements published in Geneva through a company, which was paid through money laundering,” he maintained.

“We have to face great difficulty even in sending $600 abroad, but nobody bothered to know how money was sent to the company for such a big campaign.

“The same is the case with our educated people who get a visa with great difficulty while people from Afghanistan land in Switzerland with great ease and get an asylum,” he added.

Two more suspects in Khawaja Izhar’s attack case nabbed from Baluchistan!

KARACHI: Two more members of KU network (associated with the newly formed militant outfit called Ansar-ul-Shariah Pakistan – PSP) have been arrested from Baluchistan.  

They are accused of attacking leader of the opposition in Sindh Assembly Khawaja Izharul Hassan (who belongs to MQMP) on Eid-ul-Azha day (2nd of September).

According to details one of the suspects Professor Mushtaq was arrested from Quetta. He was operating an educational institute here besides teaching at Baluchistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences.

Other suspect Mufti Habibullah – who ran seminaries in Karachi and Hyderabad – was arrested from Pishin.

Sources have insinuated that both have been systematically indoctrinating students, transforming them into extremists and militants.

Polio-free Balochistan campaign begins

QUETTA: Balochistan health ministry has initiated a three-day polio-free campaign in four districts of the province, an official said today.

“Nearly eight hundred thousand children up to five years of age will be administered anti-polio vaccinations in Quetta, Pishin, Qilla Abdullah and Mastung during the campaign,” Syed Faisal, Provincial Chief Coordinator Emergency Operation Centre, said.

Three thousand eight hundred twenty-four teams have been constituted to administer anti-polio vaccinations to the children, he added.

The official further said that the government has made tight security arrangements for security of polio teams.
