LAHORE: Punjab’s IGP Arif  Nawaz  has revealed that the carelessness of police had led terrorists to carry out an assault on Sri Lankan cricket team in 2009.

He was briefing media here today about the security arrangements made for the upcoming T20 match to be played in Lahore between the two teams.

Responding to a question about the serial stabbing cases in Karachi the IG said that he was willing to provide all help.

4th ODI: Pakistan once again stamps authority on SL crushing them by 7 wickets!

SHARJAH: Pakistan crushed Sri Lanka by seven wickets here today in the fourth ODI of the five match series.

Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat with high hopes. But the team gave the most miserable performance of the series.

They lost seven wickets for 99 before recovering marginally to finish with 173 runs.

Lahiru Thirimanne, the only Sri Lankan batsman to stay firm on the pitch, made 62 off 94 balls, including four fours.

Skipper Uppal Tharanga also failed to make any statement as he received a peach of a delivery from the debutant Usman Khan Shinwari.

The target was far too comfortable for Pakistan. After early glitches, that had left green shirts at 58 for 3, astonishing half-centuries from Babar Azam and Shoaib Malik enabled the team make 177 for three and continue its winning spree.
