WASHINGTON: Donald Trump has selected Ex-Envoy to Germany (2001-5) & former Republican Senator of Indiana (1989-99) Dan Coats 73, as the new Director of National Intelligence (16 intelligence and security agencies).
Coats accepting the job said that he would utilize all the means at his disposal to keep America safe. It is pertinent to mention here that DNI was formed after the 9/11 in order to oversee the synchronization between entities like Dept of Homeland Security, CIA, FBI etc.
Contrary to White House denial many believe that Trump will be reducing the number of such agencies.
