HOLLYWOOD: Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has been officially declared the highest paid actor in the world, according to the recently published Forbes World’s Highest-Paid Celebrities of 2016 list.
Famed wrestler-turned-actor Johnson, who has starred in the top action/racing movie series ‘Fast and Furious’, has brought in a total of $64.5 million dollar-earnings in the 15 years since his silver screen debut in The Mummy Returns.
He has also done a number of top-grossing films in recent years. The 44-year-old has starred in seven films that have grossed more than $100 million since he first appeared in the fifth installment of the Fast and the Furious saga in 2011.
However, he is ranked 19th on Forbes’ coveted list, on which he first appeared in 2012.
The Baywatch actor wrote about Forbes declaration on his official Instagram page: “Receiving news like this will always serve as my anchoring reminder to continue to work even harder. We not only want to ‘embrace the grind’, but take the grind to new levels.”
