What is auditory hallucination and does it mess with our routine life?

AIMAN INAM

LONDON: Some people claim to hear voices while performing any task, surrounding with friends and people even while sleeping. But what exactly is this chaos?

Medical science labels this condition as auditory hallucinations, which could potentially mess with its patient’s life.

In most of the cases, such hallucinations are linked with psychological mayhems particularly schizophrenia, however, despite being mentally fit, people can have this condition.

Considering that, a nouvelle research was conducted under the supervision of Drs. Filippo Varese, Warren Mansell, and Sara Tai from the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom.

Almost 40 participants have been assessed apropos their life objectives, what the voices they heard wanted to tell them and how they reacted.

Their findings revealed that the voices merely have a nonconstructive impact if they clash with the individual’s personal values and views.

Nevertheless, if the voices provide you with motivation and encouragement, then they could have constructive impacts on the people’s life.

However, the majority of the participants reported that their voices are an obstruction when it comes to pursue their goals, which is very depressing. Also, those people have been reported with lower quality of life.

Academics believe that cognitive behavioral therapy would target the patients’ negative reactions, resulting into easing their sufferings

Journal Psychology and Psychotherapy: Theory, Research and Practice was reported the study.
